YASH BIOGRAPHY

Naveen Kumar Gowda, better known by the screen name as Yash, is an Indian filmmaker who specializes in Kannada films. Prior to filming, he had acted in theaters and played various roles in television soap operas.

Yash made his debut film in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi, playing a supporting role in the film. In her second film, Moggina Manasu, she played the role of a man against Radhika Pandit. The film emerged as a commercial success and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Yash went on to star in many commercial films such as Modalasala, Rajadhani, Kirataka, Lucky, Jaanu, Drama, Googly, Raja Huli, Gajakesari, Mr and Mrs Ramachari, Masterpiece, etc. With a successful hit record, Yash has proven himself to be one of the undisputed stars in the Kannada film industry.

In the beginning

Yash began his teleserial acting career with Nanda Gokula directed by Ashok Kashyap, starring in ETV Kannada. He went on to appear in several other teleserials such as Malebillu and Preeti Illada Mele. Her performance at Preeti Illada Mele is highly appreciated. Yash entered the Kannada silver screen with a small role in a film directed by Priya Hassan, Jambhada Hudugi in 2007, which was not seen by a large part of the audience. He then played the role of Moggina Manasu directed by Shashank in 2008, where he was joined by Inanda Gokula colleague Radhika Pandit. It was not a full role, however, the role brought him great recognition. He won the Most Supporting Film Acting Award for his filming. Yash then played a leading role in some of the most respected films such as Rocky (2008), Kallara Santhe (2009), Gokula (2009), etc.

The star

In 2010, Yash starred in Modalasala, his first solo song. Yash’s performance in the role of a love boy was well received. His next film was Rajadhani in 2011, which received good reviews and Yash’s performance was highly praised even though the film was below average in the box office. That same year, his next film Kirataka became a huge success and became his first commercial hit. Yash has received some positive reviews for his performance in a local comedy film. The film made Yash famous, among the crowd. In 2012, Yash had two major releases, Lucky (who opposes Ramya) and Jaanu, both of whom were eagerly awaited but met with mixed reactions when they were released and became central boxers at the box office.

His next film of the same year, a comedy drama directed by Yograj Bhat which was released with an amazing opening and was a huge commercial success. The film has been announced as a blockbuster and is one of the biggest grossers of 2012. The film elevated Yash to the status of a star and established a loyal youth fan-friendly following, which included many female fans. His next film Googly starring Kriti Kharbanda and directed by Pawan Wadeyar was released on July 19, 2013. The film recorded a huge opening and appeared as a blockbuster in the box office. The opening and success of the film has proven that Yash has a huge fan base in the youth and emerges as the next big Sandalwood star.

The much-anticipated Yash by Raja Huli, directed by Guru Deshpande directed by Nadabrahma Hamsalekha music released on November 1, 2013, on Kannada Rajyothsava Day. Repeating Sasikumar's Tamil film Sundarapandian, the movie went on to become a major song, mainly due to the well-used Mandya-Kannada Slang in the movie. Raja Huli is accompanied by his hit song, Kirataka.

Whether on a single screen or multiplex, Gajakesari is a film that is much sought after by cine viewers, as main character Yash is a popular Sandalwood star. By releasing more than 180 screens, Gajakesari has made a fortune by breaking all previous Kannada movie records. By the first weekend itself, the film had collected about 5.5 crores in a box.

Yash also appeared in the book Mr & Mrs Ramachari directed by start-up director Santosh Aananddram, with her hit group & Drama and Moggina Manasu colleague Radhika Pandit as the lead female.

Yash also starred in Googly 2, which will be directed by Pawan Wadeyar of the bank on the success of its Googly prequel. His hit comedy Masterpiece was released the night before his birthday on Jan. 8, 2015. He also signed the film KGF under the renowned Ugramm director Prashant Neel.

Personal life

Yash is married to Radhika Pandit. The couple, after being together for several years, got married on December 9th, 2016.
