Mohamed Alabbar (Arabic: Ù…ØÙ…د بن علي العبار), (born November 8, 1956) is an Emirati businessman and international businessman. He is best known as the founder of Emaar Properties, property developer such as Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, and chairman of Eagle Hills, a private company based in Abu Dhabi and real estate development. He is also the founder and director of Monol.com, an e-commerce ecosystem of the Arab world and the largest e-commerce company GCC and chairman of the Americana Group, in the food industry.

Mohamed Alabbar was born in Dubai and is the first of 12 children. Alabbar's father was the captain of a traditional merchant ship known as dhow and raised his children in the Rashidiya area of Dubai. In the 1970s, Alabbar received a government scholarship to study finance and business administration at the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University. He received a distinguished doctoral degree in personality from his alma mater in 2007 and served on the Board of Trustees until 2016.
Work
After college, Alabbar began his career with the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates as a bank manager. In 1992, Alabbar returned to Dubai and began working for the government as the founding director of the Department of Economic Development (DED). Alabbar's work led him to form a close relationship with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Governor of Dubai, who later became one of Sheikh Mohammed's chief economic advisers. Alabbar worked with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to develop and grow both Dubai's tourism industry and global reputation. In 1996, Alabbar launched and organized a Dubai Shopping Festival that attracted more than two million visitors through a shopping and shopping event highlighted by street shops, fashion shows, food festivals, fairy tales and more. That same year, Alabbar was nominated by Advertising Age as one of the International Marketing Superstars of the year.

He is the founder and chairman of Africa Middle East Resources (AMER), an independent company working to unlock the potential of Africa's natural resources and connect them to major consumer markets in Asia.
She is the founder and major shareholder of RSH, a Singapore-based Singapore-based pan-Asian retailer, distributor and distributor of international fashion and lifestyle products. Alabbar also sits on the board of Noor Investment Group, a subsidiary of Dubai Group, a leading financial firm of Dubai Holding.
